At the British Schools Cycling Association (BSCA), we are dedicated to promoting cycling in schools across the United Kingdom. Our mission is to inspire young people to embrace cycling as a fun, healthy, and environmentally friendly activity that can be enjoyed for life. We believe that cycling not only fosters physical fitness but also builds important life skills such as discipline, teamwork, and resilience.
Who We Are
The BSCA is a national organization with a passion for cycling and education. We work with schools, teachers, parents, and communities to create opportunities for students of all ages and abilities to get involved in cycling. Whether through casual riding, school cycling clubs, or competitive events, we aim to make cycling accessible and enjoyable for every student.
Our Mission
Our mission is to:
- Promote Cycling: Encourage the integration of cycling into the daily lives of young people, both as a sport and a mode of transportation.
- Support Schools: Provide schools with the resources, training, and support they need to establish and sustain successful cycling programs.
- Develop Skills: Help students develop their cycling skills in a safe and supportive environment, from basic riding skills to advanced competitive training.
- Foster Community: Build a nationwide community of young cyclists, teachers, and cycling enthusiasts who support each other in achieving their goals.
- Promote Safety: Advocate for cycling safety, ensuring that all participants are equipped with the knowledge and gear necessary to ride safely.

The BSCA offers a range of services and programs designed to support cycling in schools:
- Cycling Events: We organize a variety of events, from local competitions to national championships, where students can test their skills, compete, and have fun.

- Training & Resources: We offer training for teachers and students, as well as resources on bike maintenance, safety, and cycling best practices.
- Advocacy: We work with local and national bodies to advocate for cycling infrastructure, safety measures, and policies that support young cyclists.
